Extended Care

The Extended Day Program (EDP) is an extension of the school day after school. Only students of Mt. St. Mary Academy may be enrolled. The purpose of the program is to provide a safe caring environment for students of working parents. Students in the EDP program are subject to the same guidelines and procedures as the regular school day.

During EDP, students are expected to remain in uniform. Homework time is provided, and it is the student’s responsibility to acknowledge assignments and to use the resources available to them. EDP staff also plans activities such as outside play, arts and crafts, educational movies and television programs, games, and reading. Personal toys and other items are not to be brought to EDP.

All regular school rules are in effect during EDP and students are asked to help put away toys, games, and other materials used during EDP. A parent signs out their student with EDP personnel. Students are only permitted to be signed out by a parent or person listed on their emergency card.
